Why do you or your business need a web-site anyway?

World Exposure: A web site introduces you or your company, its products and services to the world. The site is accessible 24 hours a day, delivering information to prospective customers and providing an outlet for instant feedback. With the Worldwide Internet Population of 2004 at 934 million (Computer Industry Almanac), it's easy to see how one can reach and similarly, generate a response from a large audience with only a single web page. The U.S. alone has 185.55 million (Computer Industry Almanac), consumers wired in to the internet, that's 64% of the total population.

Advertising:
A survey from the American Advertising Federation reports that industry leaders expect online advertising to double by 2007. "Far from the over-hyped promises of the late '90s, there is now greater clarity about the real benefits of online," the AAF report states, "including its ability to complement and enhance the use of traditional media and its precision targeting."

Small Business: The Internet equals profits for more than half of the 400 small businesses that participated in an eBay-commissioned survey, conducted by ACNielsen, and a small portion reported that without the Web, they wouldn't have a business. While 51 percent of the respondents indicated that the Internet has improved their profitability, 58 percent said the medium has helped their businesses grow or expand. Fully one-third of the survey participants, which included merchants who have used eBay, sell goods and services online, and 15 % said the Internet is essential to their survival. Go back to top
